The Prime Minister's Office has issued the Notification on Results of Monitoring and Data Collection of Electronic Waste Recycling plants and Old Batteries throughout the country No. 1855 / PMO.DS. This notification aims to prevent, control and minimize pollution caused by toxic chemicals as well as to review the standards and quality of electronic waste recycling plants and old batteries, especially the importation and using of raw materials (electronics and batteries).

In 2017, the Industry and Commerce Sector has achieved its targets including 1) The value of industry and handicraft production achieved 8,942 billion Kip compares to 8,585 billion Kip in 2016, which increases by 4.15%. 2) Domestic trade achieved 51,387 billion Kip, compares to 44,907 billion Kip in 2016, which increases 15.10%. 3) For foreign trade, the value of import and export accounts for 9,345 million USD (estimated number), which increased 11% from last year.
